AI Tools We’re Using

AI Tools We’re Experimenting with Right Now (& How We Use Them)

We recently wrote about AI integration and the ways we’ve been putting it to the test in our marketing and creative process. As previously mentioned, AI can be helpful in writing content, generating code, analyzing data, and creating customized images and videos. It can provide a great starting point in the content creation process and even give you fresh ideas you may not have thought of before, but it definitely has its drawbacks. (You can learn about the Strengths & Weaknesses of using AI tools here in Part 1.)

Now for the good stuff! Below are four AI tools we’ve tried out recently and all the details on how they work, so you can decide if any of these sound useful for you too:

4 AI Tools We’re Experimenting with Right Now:

1. ChatGPT - Copywriting

ChatGPT is a content writing and response platform designed to understand and respond in a conversational manner, similar to a human conversation. It’s capable of completing sentences, answering questions, and providing contextually relevant responses to a wide range of topics. This has quickly become our go-to in our AI toolbox.

2. Writesonic - Copywriting (powered by GPT)

WriteSonic is a content creation platform that uses natural language processing algorithms to generate written content, such as blog posts, product descriptions, social media posts, etc. It also provides suggestions for headlines, subheadings, and calls-to-action to help users optimize their content for SEO and engagement.

(We personally felt like Writesonic was great for generating headlines and subheadings for blogs and articles, but far less conversational than ChatGPT, which continues to build on the “conversation” you are having.

3. Mid journey - Text to image creator

The Midjourney Bot creates custom images from simple text prompts. It takes about a minute to generate four image options. You can try it for free; trial users can make roughly 25 “Jobs” before needing to subscribe to a paid plan. (A Job is any action that uses the Midjourney Bot, including using the /imagine command to create a grid of images, upscaling images, or creating image variations.

4. Synthesia - AI Generated Video with Actor

Synthesia is an AI-powered video creation platform that allows users to generate video content quickly and easily from text input. Users can input a script or text-based content, and Synthesia will automatically generate a video that matches the content. The platform can create a range of video types, including explanation videos, tutorials, product demos, etc. Users can also customize the videos generated by Synthesia, including choosing actors, backgrounds, and music, to create a unique video that matches their brand and message.

This one may be the creepiest? You can tell the AI actor exactly what you want them to say, and it looks so real when they’re speaking!

These are the main AI tools we’ve been working with, but they’re just a few of the options available. There are so many more, you could test out and explore different AI tools for months if you wanted. Overall, we’ve found some tools more helpful than others. The “actors” in Synthesia really appear to be speaking the script you have provided, but seem… a little soulless in my opinion. Mid Journey was more advanced than some of the other image generators we’ve tried in the past, like Canva’s option. Writesonic seemed to have more capabilities, but in practice ChatGPT was much more practical in everyday use.

Let us know which ones you plan to try and if you find them useful.
